David Fickling Books is a story house, and we only publish 12-20 titles a year. We are a small outfit with a worldwide reputation! We look carefully at everything that is sent to us. If you have a story that you think children will LOVE, please post it to us. Unfortunately, we just do not have enough people to respond to each submission individually. If you haven’t heard from us within 3 months, therefore, please assume that we have decided not to consider your submission further. Please refrain from sending in work that you would like returned unless you have provided a SAE with correct UK postage attached.  

Guidelines:
Please send us just the first 3 chapters of your writing. Don’t worry - if we’re eager to see more, we’ll definitely be in touch! Submissions should be clearly labelled with your full name and contact details, written in English, typed, double line-spaced, and with numbered pages. We love to look at stories for all ages, in both text and pictures. Quality is our watchword.
